Our History

HCS Engineering Company (HCS) is the product of a merger between Hodge and Conway Engineering Company and State Engineering Company. Our offices are located at 826B Bank St. NE, in Decatur, Alabama.

September 1992

Established in September 1992 as State Engineering Co.

July 1993

Completed first HAZOP study in 1993 for Monsanto (now Ascend)

August 1993

Completed first Mechanical engineering project in August 1993 for Amoco Chemical Co.(now IVXP)

February 1994

Moved office to Beltline South Office Complex, in 1994

April 1994

Hired first employee in 1994 to expand into I&E engineering

May 1996

Expanded office in 1996 to accommodate growth

October 2002

Merged with Hodge and Conway Engineering to form HCS Engineering in October 2002

September 2019

To-date have provided engineering and design services to more than 120 clients, supporting over 5,000 projects

January 2020

Moved to Bank Street Office in 2020
